Our family, along with 65,431,953 voters in our country are thrilled with the outcome of the 2008 election. President-elect Obama (doesn’t that have a nice ring to it?) is the right person for the job in the considerably rough times I’m certain are ahead. I am so proud of my country today!
On a funny note (not so funny at the time), Don and I locked ourselves out of the house on Tuesday night (or should I say Wednesday morning. It was about 1:30 a.m. We were dead tired). So after being awake since 4:45a.m. and all the running around and election day craziness we spent the night in a hotel in Fredricksburg. The hotel owner was watching the news when I checked in. He saw the “Obama/Biden” pin on my jacket and gave me a high-five through the plexi-glass. He said, “America needed this! I had my bags packed for home incase he didn’t win.” (I think he was from India).
We had breakfast at Cracker Barrel the next morning on our way to pick up O from the grandparents house. From Fredricksburg to Haymarket and from Haymarket to Richmond there was not one Washington Post to be found. Everyone was sold out by 8 a.m. Fortunately there was a young man selling The Richmond Times Dispatch when we got off the highway on our way home.
